Gingersnaps

375*F 10 minutes ungreased cookie sheet yield about 2 1/2 dozen


1 c brown sugar
3/4 c shortening
1/4 c molasses
1 egg
1 t baking soda
1 t ginger
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t cloves
2 1/4 c flour

mix together and roll into balls. dip balls into:

1/2 cup sugar

put sugar encrusted cookie balls on cookie sheet. they will flatten as they cook.
